Internet technology grows more and more as time passes. The many different tasks you can complete on the internet are unreal. Years ago it was unheard of to be able to make calls via the web, video calls, conducting business internationally almost anything can be accomplished on the internet now. The way the internet advances in a short period of time can be overwhelming and sometimes even hard to keep up with. The internet is taking over our lives it is changing the way we do things and reshaping our lives. It’s fun to think about how the internet will evolve over the next decade or so pretty soon we may not have a reason to leave our home to do anything anymore!Internet technology went from slow and simple email messages to video calls and online shopping. Who would’ve predicted that? Things went from blogging to micro blogging in what seems like overnight. The way the internet advances is sometimes a little scary. The speed of the internet has evolved immensely. Things went from dialup to high speed cable modems. Everything went from requiring a wired connection from a landline phone to going wireless. Still having a wired connection is somewhat frowned upon these days. The new technology allows people to instantly communicate with each other over the internet. Whether this is through email, instant messages or video calls the options are unlimited now. This type of technology has had a huge impact on the way the world communicates with each other. The social impact is somewhat staggering people don’t talk on the phone any more they rather receive a email from you. They don’t go hang out with you anymore they rather receive a video call from you and other friends on Skype or Oovoo. The technology of the internet has provided companies to conduct business over the web where it is domestic or internationally. There is technology out there where you can conduct meetings over a special program that allows you to see what everyone is working on and make changes to documents, it is virtually limitless. This has helped businesses save so much money that they spent on traveling all over the globe to conduct a five or ten minute business meeting. The internet has also provided a new way to learn. Going to school online is now possible. It is ideal for those who conduct a busy life and can’t always get away from home to go to school. There is different technology out there that helps you be as productive as possible and even teaches you what you need to know for that particular class all from a virtual class room.Internet technology is evolving in ways many of us thought wasn’t possible. It allows us to do things that were otherwise not possible. The advancement of internet technology will only grow and continue to make an impact on our lives and how we will live it. Some people have been slow to take to the internet and they do not realize that they are being left behind in another world as this one takes off.

If your business has been relying on your good old phon and answering machine, you might be missing out on a lot of advantages new technology has to offer. Nonetheless, innovation, resourcefulness and creativity are the traits that set you apart from everybody else, even from the Business 2.0 type of companies. Let’s see how you can maximize your answering machine to create a comprehensive and reliable business voicemail system:

Make it more convenient. If you will be out of the office for a while, cut down the number of rings before callers are sent to voicemail. This makes it easier for customers to leave you a message and go on with their busy lives, instead of waiting out twenty phone rings only to be told that you are out of the office.

Make it more convenient for you as well. Admit it, checking the answering machine is both a chore and a bore. Make sure that you check your voicemail messages regularly, noting which ones need immediate attention, which ones can wait, and which ones can be tossed to the trash. Delete messages every time you finish checking, otherwise you’ll have to go through all of them again the next time you press Play. Devise a system that will make it easier for you to manage all your messages.
Make it sound professional. Create a voicemail greeting like a boss. VoIP service -based voicemail systems today have custom greetings that incorporate music with professionally recorded messages.

The least you can do is to speak clearly in a quiet room as you record your message. Sound professional and provide important details such as you and your business’ name, and when you can return the call.
Make it work. Return calls at the time and date you promise. That’s the only time voicemail, whether it is through an answering machine or through digital recordings, truly works for your business.
